Movie Script Search

Ever wanted to read the actual scripts of your fav movies?

Option1: You can buy actual bound scripts from eBay ($15)
Option2: Buy shooting script books (Little Miss Sunshine: Shooting Script)
Option3: Wander around the net looking for those scripts.

I usually use, option 3 (except for little gems like ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ – which bought the script book). There are some great sites which give them away free. But most of the times you need to check all of them to find the one you want.

Enter Google Custom Search. So I made a Google Co-op custom search and fed around 50+ script websites into it. Now it does all the leg work for me. Presenting…

Micheal Bay – THE Transformer

Paramount Pictures announced that it will release Transformers only in HD-DVD format, and not Sony’s Blu-Ray format. Thats when Micheal Bay e-x-p-l-o-d-e-d, with flames flying thro his nose, he declared that he will not direct the Transformer’s sequel, in a forum post in his personal website.

"I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!

Bay"

Bay was hailed as a hero for standing up to the Paramount Juggernaut – his David v/s Goliath struggle was digged 2000+ times.

Then, it happened – Black Suits donning dark Black glasses, descended from a hovering Black Helicopter on to his roof  – dragged him to the balcony, set his toaster and toothbrush on fire (both exploding spectacularly) - and offered him a black suitcase with undisclosed contents.

Next morning, he woke up and posted:

err… I was….ummm…. this is awkward - "I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2!"

And they named the sequel after himThe Transformer too

$$ speaks louder than ideals.

Alpha Dog

Its one of those movies whose poster repels people. I have come across this movie in Blockbuster many times – and each time I thought its one of those funky LA hip-hop movies. But picked up to watch it yesterday and was deeply shaken by the movie.

The first half of the movie just lazes around without any point with 100s of characters coming in and out. It sort of crystallizes into a something resembling a story in the last 30-40 mins, before shocking your system in a unnerving climax.

Its almost like a scripted movie with drugs, teenagers, guns, violence, sex, endless parties and kidnapping – but shockingly its based on True Story. I didn’t realize it first, but the director kept peppering the screens with timings and various text (eg: Vick’s Bar – Day 3 10:22pm) – which I dismissed as his technique.

Except the lead actor, and a fat Sharon Stone (only in the last reel) – everyone’s acting was exceptional. Particularly the guy who plays the elder brother of the kid. Go see it, it has Bruce Wills and Sharon Stone as guest stars,

Update:  An Indian version of this tragedy happened last week.

"The body of 16-year-old Adnan Patrawala has been found at Navi Mumbai. The persons we have arrested had committed the kidnapping and strangled him to death out of panic when they realised that the kidnap story was being broadcast on television channels," Deputy Commissioner of Police V Chaubey told PTI.
